Grenadian Cultural Association of BC
The Grenadian Cultural Association of BC (GCABC) was incorporated on July 21, 1998. Its aims and objectives are:
to develop and maintain a sense of unity among Grenadian in BC to act as a resource for Grenadians in BC
to promote awareness of Grenada within the community

Brief history of Grenada
Grenada was discovered 1498 by Christopher Columbus. It was named, "La Grenade" and also known as the "Isle of Spice". Grenada changed hands 14 times before coming under British rule until February 7, 1974 when it was granted nationhood. The year 2014 marks the 40th year of Grenada's Independence from Great Britain.
Grenada is known for its aromatic spices, white sandy beaches, friendly people and cultural festivals

For the past 16 years our Association has supported and received tremendous support from the Caribbean community and the community at large. By attending our fundraising events, you made it possible for us to meet some of our obligations to the charities we support locally, nationally and internationally. I would like to take his opportunity to thank you for your many years of assistance and we hope you would continue to support us in our future endeavours.

Membership
Membership shall consist of the following:
Grenadians and their dependents, associates and juniors, who are willing to observe the guiding principles of the Association.
Full membership - shall be open to all Grenadians 18 years and over and their dependents who are willing to observe and accept the guiding principles of the Association.
Associate Membership - shall be open to those 18 years and older who are not eligible for full membership and who are willing to observe and accept the guiding principles of the Association.
Prospective members will be admitted only upon written application. Each application must be endorsed by a member of the Association, in good standing, and will be filed with the Secretary.

Family membership: $30.00 per yearSingle membership: $20.00 per year.Associate Membership: $30.00 per yearYouth Membership: $5.00 per year
Meetings
Meetings are currently held on the third Friday of each month (except for July and August) at Cameron Centre, Burnaby, BC.
Yearly Events• Independence Gala - includes dinner, cultural performances and dance• GrenFest – Grenada Food Festival• Summer Family Picnic• Grenada Tea and Fashion Show• Annual Children's Christmas party hosted by United Children's Christmas Club.
